An absolutely fabulous antique pewter pitcher with wonderful decorative patterning around its circumference. It was purchased from an antique dealer in south west France. This piece is very interesting and quite crude in some ways with its tilt forward (there is a little wobble). Over the years it has picked up some dings and tarnishing although it's still a solid and heavy piece. Underneath there is a maker's mark of a winged figure and what looks like a 'J' and possibly a 'B' (see photos). As for age, it appears in every aspect to be antique piece although there is always the possibly that it might appear older than it actually is, in that case putting into the vintage category. Condition: good used vintage/antique condition with the expected age-related wear such as tarnishing and dings to the metal finish; the jug leans forward at an angle and there is a slight little wobble - in summary a very unique piece indeed!
