A beautiful French antique oil painting depicting a French coastal village in the late 1800s. The painting has really wonderful, subtle colours and has been signed by the artist. To the rear of the frame in pencil is a date, '20 avril 1893' - it is hard to make out so I increased the contrast and you can just about see it (photo 11). The frame is probably later in date, and has a worn, shabby chic finish which really suits this antique art.
